Dr. Siow Mei Ling

 Our Master of Sustainable Landscape Architecture (2023/2024) students under SLM5100 (Landscape Project Management) have been hard at work, and we're thrilled to share the amazing project they've been involved in!

 Imagine an abandoned orchard waiting to be transformed. A member of our community reached out to us for help, expressing a heartfelt desire to conserve the orchard and its beautiful trees.  With a shared vision of sustainability and community well-being, our students eagerly took on the challenge!

 Over the span of the semester, our talented students have thoroughly analyzed the potential of the abandoned orchard. From thoughtful landscape designs to innovative eco-friendly solutions, they've brainstormed ideas that not only preserve the orchard's natural beauty but also create opportunities for income generation through ecotourism.

 We believe in the power of community collaboration, and this project is a shining example of how education and real-world application can come together to make a positive impact!

 On the 20^th of Jan 2024, the groups presented their findings to Mr. Mohan (the owner of the orchard) and were renumerated RM 300 for the best proposal and RM 200 for the second-best proposal. Congratulations to both teams on a job well done!
