i- STP won the coveted "Highly Commended Award" in the "Innovation Achiever's Award"

The first Malaysian research project, i-STP Modular Sewage Treatment System for Remote Coastal Settlements, won the coveted "Highly Commended Award" in the "Innovation Achiever's Award" since the establishment of the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) in UK since 183 years ago and 37 years in Malaysia. Prof Dr Rahinah Ibrahim and Dr Navid Nasrolah Mazandarani team beat more than 160 entries from 16 countries who participated in the 2016 competition.

The CIOB International & Research Awards 2016 had announced the winners in March 2017 and the prizes in the form of a trophy, cash £500 and certificate arrived after a long journey from London.

The invention is an output of a translational research project which was initiated and partly sponsored by Golden Precision Technologies (M) Sdn Bhd who wanted a beautiful yet smallest sewerage treatment system to go along with its industrialised timber framing building system. i-STP had also recently won a Gold Medal at the International Conference and Exposition on Inventions by Institutions of Higher Learning (PECIPTA 2017) in Kuala Terengganu 7th - 9th October 2017.
