The Landscape Architecture

Landscape architecture is the art and science of creating a balance outdoor environment between the human needs and the natural environment. It involves manipulation of the landscape elements and resources in order to provide the functional, attractive and pleasant landscapes for use. A landscape architect is a professional who is responsible in planning, designing and management of landscape towards sustainable development.

The Department

The Department of Landscape Architecture started since the estabhlisment of the Faculty in June 1996. The programs offered under the department are:-

1. Bachelor of Landscape Architecture
2. Master of Landscape Architecture
3. Master of Sustainable Landscape Management
4. Master of Tropical Urban Design
5. Master Science (Landscape)
6. Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

The Department of Landscape Architecture plays vital role in the academic development of Landscape Architecture and related fields. Besides controbuting academically, the Department also involves in research related to landscape architecture in contributing towards the development of Malaysia’s landscape.

The mission of the Department is “to realize the Faculty’s and University’s mission to become an excellent centre of knowledge development in landscape architecture and its related fields at national and international levels”.
